The “stories” they have to tell…

A whole bunch of “stuff” from the bottom of tackle boxes that usually gets thrown out! I find it all very interesting! I was getting it ready to pony at my JosephsLures shop at ETSY and thought the folks here might find the text an interesting and fun read. Might use a little help on my ID’s, too! Just for your reading pleasure—- Enjoy!

Going across, then down:

Six little screwdrivers in plastic case (little rust on a couple)

A TY-KNOT tool on card, Batavia,NY! Right down the road from me! Never used—- interesting! I usually tie my fingers together!

Unmarked hook disgorger/hook sharpener/line cutter (I bet you missed that last one!), Pocket clip, too, to keep it handy for a fact draw!

Top quality needle nose split shot pliers.crimper! Unmarked. Lanyard, ribbed spring handles- a real piece of work! For adding or removing split shot before they started “dog-earing” them!

Pocket knife- “LF & Co, New Britain, Conn”. Scarce maker, but unfortunately one blade(tool) broken off. Looks good displayed!

Pliers- needle nosed, “Utica 1033-6 USA”. Classic!

Unknown little flat ended tool with slit/hole on both ends? My best guess is that it was a “pick” to grab at a line tangle (a “birdsnest”) in one of those old black line bait caster reels and pull it apart!

Plain and simple nail clippers, with file! Marked, can’t quite read.

TWO old nail clipper/combination tools! The original “Multi-Tools” and they could trim finger nalis, too!
——- top is “Big Pal Angler’s Clip Lite-R Venice FL” . I count 7 different tools here!
_____ lower is a quality import, marked “777”?, 5 tools, on ring

Sharpening stone, with it’s own vinyl case! That’s class! Never used one- my hooks always seemed sharp enough when I set them into a sunken log!

Another sharpening stone, grooved both sides. Do hooks have left and right sides to them?

Can/bottle opener- marked “Coors”! Indispensable in the days before ziptop cans and twist-off bottles! Find a lot of these in tackle boxes—- hmmmmm. Connection?

Tiny little tweezers with a hole on both sides? May be another birds-nest picker, but in those days of wooden row boats I bet they found use for removing splinters!

A needle valve for inflating basketballs, etc? I suspect this was used to blow a little air bubble in a live worm to make it float up off the bottom. I always passed on that idea!
