I have shipped hundreds of items to Japan, and never had a problem, knock on wood. I usually ship by First Class International. If you ship a lure(s) in a package 8 oz. or less, it costs $17.25. Up to a pound is $27.75. You might want to ship high value items by USPS Priority International because you can't insure First Class international, although it is expensive $56.55 for a 1 pound Priority International package. I pack extra carefully and self insure shipments to Japan, figure the money I save on insurance will more than cover a possible loss. All the Japanese buyers I have dealt with are very honorable, and the Japanese postal service seems very reliable. I think it is especially important to purchase and print labels on-line when shipping internationally to minimize address and delivery problems, plus you get a shipping discount. I only ship internationally to Canada, Europe, Japan, Australia, and New Zealand. Used to ship to Asia but have had a few problems (COVID related delivery issues). That's my two cents, and worth what you paid for it.
Good luck,
Kevin
